To fulfill ambitions toward modernist architectures and contemporary design, StudioX4 was founded in 2010. Situated at multi-cultural Taipei city, the team dedicate to urban languages and interdisciplinary studies toward both exterior and interior spatial design.

Our Philosophy

空間中有鬆、有緊；
比例拿捏得當，就能成就一個好空間。

乘四建築師事務所由建築師團隊、專業室內設計師以及燈光技師所組成，成立於2010年夏，作品堅持人與藝術的溫度，範圍涵蓋建築、室內及傢俱領域．其創作深受德、義、美、英、中、韓青睞，陸續榮獲眾多國際獎項，包含iF、Reddot、Dezeen ShortList、台北設計獎市長獎等殊榮。近年來，其團隊更榮獲美國建築獎Architizer及英國LICC大獎，是為數不多的台灣華人團隊之一。

StudioX4 Architects was established in the summer of 2010 and is comprised of a team of architects, professional interior designers, and lighting technicians. Their work emphasizes the warmth of human connection and art, covering a wide range of disciplines including architecture, interior design, and furniture design.

StudioX4’s creations have garnered international recognition, with influences spanning from Germany, Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and South Korea. They have received numerous prestigious international awards, including the iF Design Award, Red Dot Award, Dezeen Shortlist, and the Taipei Design Award Mayor’s Prize.

In recent years, the team has continued to gain acclaim, winning the Architizer A+ Award in the U.S. and the London International Creative Competition (LICC), making them one of the few Taiwanese teams to achieve such global recognition.

The architect, Li-Yu Cheng, is a lecturer of Interior Design Department in Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan. To fulfill ambitions toward modernist architectures and contemporary spatial design, in 2010, Li-Yu Cheng founded StudioX4 at a multi-cultural city, Taipei, where the teams dedicating to urban languages and interdisciplinary studies toward both exterior and interior spatial design.

The designer, Yu-Chen Chen, graduated from the Interior Design Department at Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan. With over a decade of experience in design and execution, in addition to having full knowledge of architectural languages, Chen specializes in master-planning for lighting and interior design.
